Operations and Monitoring Engineer (Power Generation)

What you will do

• Monitor power plant operating data to detect operational and hardware issues and minimize their impact.
• Review monitoring infrastructure results and investigate or diagnose issues affecting gas turbine, steam turbine, and generator units.
• Document findings and provide customers with recommendations for corrective action.
• Provide technical support for customer inquiries and on-demand operational issues.
• Propose diagnostic rules to improve automatic abnormal-operation alerts.
• Support the development of monitoring software tools and collaborate with service and engineering organizations during scheduled and forced outages.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in power generation or a related industry.
• Knowledge of gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators in power generation applications.
• Ability to read and understand P&IDs, control logic, and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of Python or similar code for time series data analysis, along with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
