Salary: $86,000–$122,000 USD per year

What you will do
- Design avionics enclosures and mounting solutions for high reliability in harsh environments, with emphasis on batteries and crew interfacing components.
- Participate in the full design cycle of flight- and mission-critical avionics.
- Partner with electrical engineers to develop rugged printed circuit board systems.
- Perform thermal and structural analyses and support electronics development trade studies.
- Create interface definition, specification, control, assembly, and installation documents.
- Plan and conduct tests, interpret results, validate requirements, and support hardware builds.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or another engineering discipline completed or expected by June 2026.
- At least 1 year of project or internship experience with electronics packaging or critical electronic components in extreme environments.
- At least 1 year of project or internship experience with 3D CAD programs.
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends during critical mission milestones.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
- Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export control requirements.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or another engineering discipline completed or expected by June 2026.
- Working experience with NX.
- Experience implementing and analyzing GD&T according to ASME Y14.5.
- Thermal and structural analysis experience using ANSYS or similar tools.
- Familiarity with environmental testing similar to SMC-S-016 or MIL-STD-810.
