Director, US IT Asset Management (ITAM)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; work arrangement details, including the proportion of on-site and remote work, will be discussed during the interview.

Salary: $165,000–$240,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and location; incentive compensation and a discretionary bonus may also apply.

What you will do

• Lead the regional IT Asset Management strategy and operating model in alignment with enterprise standards and governance requirements.
• Lead ITAM teams, tools, and continuous-improvement initiatives, including people development, coaching, performance, capability growth, and accountability.
• Oversee end-to-end hardware and software asset lifecycle management across planning, acquisition, deployment, maintenance, refresh, and retirement.
• Partner with enterprise stakeholders, vendors, and service providers to align ITAM priorities and support strategic outcomes.
• Maintain governance, inventory accuracy, compliance, reliable asset data, reporting, and risk visibility.
• Manage budgets, risks, and optimization opportunities to improve cost discipline and the value of technology assets and licensing.

Requirements

• 12–15 years of related experience in IT Asset Management or related technology leadership, or a combination of education and experience, ideally in financial services or technology.
• Strong knowledge of hardware and software asset lifecycle practices and experience working across regional and enterprise teams.
• Experience in large, complex, and preferably regulated environments.
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field, or relevant certifications and/or completion of a relevant bootcamp.
• Expert knowledge of banking products, services, and industry regulations, including current and emerging industry trends and developments.
• Ability to shape departmental strategies, solve high-level complex problems, influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams, set long-term strategic direction, and address organization-wide challenges.
• Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, relationship-management, networking, and change-advocacy skills; digital savvy and adaptability to evolving technologies, tools, and trends.
• Experience overseeing risk-management frameworks and compliance with relevant regulations, managing relationships with Compliance and Audit teams, and overseeing compliance adherence and reporting.
• Legal eligibility to work at the specified location and, where applicable, a valid work or study permit.
