Senior EHS Manager (Japan)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; relocation to Geino or Yonezawa may be considered. Regular monthly visits to all three Japanese sites are required.

What you will do

• Maintain compliance with national and local environmental, health, and safety regulations across all Japanese plants.
• Lead the implementation and validation of corporate EHS requirements, systems, and programs.
• Advise site management teams on regulatory and corporate EHS compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement in EHS performance, culture, awareness, and accountability.
• Investigate incidents and accidents and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
• Organize employee EHS training, lead audits, maintain records, and manage a four-person team across three sites.

Requirements

• Appropriate country-specific EHS qualifications or certifications.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in safety, environmental, electrical, mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience managing EHS compliance and/or programs in multinational companies.
• Experience with EHS regulations, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, RBA, and customer audits.
• Knowledge of PHA methods including FMEA, HAZOP, and what-if analysis, as well as RCA, JSA, LOTO, and area classification.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
