Senior Manager - Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)

Location: Onsite in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia

What you will do

• Lead and continuously improve plant Environment, Health & Safety strategies, programs, and performance.
• Advise the Plant Head and Management Team on EHS risks, regulatory obligations, and operational requirements.
• Establish and maintain the plant EHS Management System, covering inspections, incident investigations, HIRARC, emergency response, machinery safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental compliance.
• Lead, coach, and develop the plant EHS team while chairing the EHS Committee and strengthening the safety culture.
• Represent the plant during regulatory inspections, audits, enforcement actions, and authority engagements with DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, and the Atomic Energy Department.
• Oversee EHS audits, documentation, data management, and record retention against ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or an EHS-related discipline.
• Valid Green Book as a Registered Safety and Health Officer with DOSH is required.
• At least 10 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or plant environment, including 3 years in a managerial or senior leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysia EHS legislation, including OSHA 1994, the Environmental Quality Act 1974, and the Atomic Energy Licensing Act 1984.
• Experience advising senior plant leadership, influencing cross-functional stakeholders, and balancing compliance with operational needs.
• Experience in sustainability, business continuity planning, crisis management, machinery safety, and fire life safety standards.

Nice to have

• Registration as an RPO/RPS with the Atomic Energy Department.
• Exposure to IEC, ISO, ANSI, SEMI, FM Global, or NFPA standards.
