What you will do

• Own mechanized assemblies and child components from design release through testing and integration onto the Terran R launch vehicle.
• Develop assembly and test flows, sequencing, manufacturing bills of materials, work orders, specifications, and work instructions.
• Support workcenter development, including safety, tooling, capital equipment, assembly operations, and test requirements.
• Provide hands-on support to shop-floor and production personnel while feeding manufacturing feedback into design for manufacturability.
• Analyze recurring manufacturing discrepancies and lead multidisciplinary root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Mentor manufacturing engineers and promote critical thinking and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering and 2+ years of experience building and testing hardware in a manufacturing environment.
• Extensive experience developing processes and authoring work instructions or test procedures for interdisciplinary mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assemblies.
• Experience collaborating with design engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, planning, and production teams.
• Experience leading and managing large-scope process or quality improvements.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
• Knowledge of at least two areas including fastening and torquing, pneumatic or electromechanical assembly, electrical or pneumatic testing, tooling fabrication, potting, grease plating, harness manufacturing, or complex gear machining.

Nice to have

• Successful new product introduction of aerospace hardware and transition from prototype to high-volume production.
• Knowledge of rocket subsystems such as structures, mechanisms, high-pressure gas systems, or avionics.
• Expertise in GD&T and drafting principles.
• Experience with capacity analysis, DFMEA/PFMEA, or value stream mapping.
