Engineer – Supplier Support Team (Gas Turbine)

What you will do

• Provide technical support for supplier pre-qualification and qualification processes.
• Support suppliers, Supplier Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, and other stakeholders with technical enquiries.
• Make engineering judgments on components and assemblies that deviate from specifications.
• Apply gas turbine engineering knowledge, design calculations, tolerance stack-ups, technical specifications, bills of materials, and change notes to support concession decisions.
• Investigate supplier non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and develop containment and corrective solutions.
• Create and modify drawings, write technical reports, and provide technical guidance to internal teams.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
• Understanding of gas turbine operation, performance principles, materials, coatings, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
• Experience with structured problem-solving methods including Fault Tree Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, DMAIC, 5 Whys, and 8D.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications, GD&T, BS 8888, and ASTM standards.
• Ability to perform mechanical engineering calculations, including tolerance stack-up analysis, and interpret data and measurements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teamcenter, NX, and SAP, plus strong technical writing and stakeholder communication skills.
