TL;DR
Quality Engineer II, Test & Launch (Aerospace): Supporting quality assurance for propulsion and stage test stands, integrated engines, and launch hardware with an accent on build verification, non-conformance management, and AS9100 quality systems. Focus on analyzing quality data, identifying root causes, developing corrective actions, and improving test and launch processes.

Location: On-site at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, United States. Occasional night shifts, weekends, and travel may be required. Successful candidates must pass a US government-administered background check for on-site work at a government partner location.

Salary: $94,000–$142,000 USD per year, plus equity.

What you will do

  • Perform in-process build verification, as-built verification, issue ticket processing, and non-conformance management.
  • Review work instructions and develop processes, corrective action plans, and rework or repair documentation.
  • Support the AS9100 Quality Management System by developing and implementing relevant policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Test and Launch, Manufacturing, and Hardware Responsible Engineering teams.
  • Use quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes, corrective actions, and improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or another STEM field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a fast-paced manufacturing company.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and regulations such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and NASA quality standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, complex assembly practices, and quality processes and controls.
  • Working knowledge of PLM, MES, ERP, and QMS software.
  • Ability to work on-site in Stennis, Mississippi and pass the required US government background check.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of FMEA, APQP, SPC, and PPV methodologies.
  • Familiarity with high-volume inspection methods and data-driven acceptance methods.
  • Experience defining and implementing new processes across diverse teams.
