Quality Specialist, Spacecraft (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Inspect spacecraft components and sub-assemblies, including fluids, avionics, and structural systems.
• Develop and execute inspection programs to verify compliance with design, specification, and testing requirements.
• Document, quarantine, and process non-conforming products while leading containment activities.
• Collect and analyze production quality data, including first-pass yield and non-conformance trends.
• Investigate quality issues with cross-functional teams through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain tool control, calibration, and metrology validation processes while supporting Lean and 5S initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in aerospace, military, or manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, GD&T documentation, and quality-control standards.
• Experience with aerospace quality standards or equivalent military or government standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, teamwork, and process flexibility.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations under ITAR.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or higher in quality, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with aerospace manufacturing, inspection equipment, root-cause analysis, AS9100, or ISO 9001.
• IPC certification and familiarity with NASA-STD-8739.4.
• Experience working in cleanrooms compliant with FS209E, ISO 14644-1, or equivalent standards.
