Backend Software Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain reusable backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering teams to deliver features and enhancements.
• Troubleshoot application, performance, and scalability issues.
• Build secure, reliable, and maintainable software following industry best practices.
• Improve code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, product ideation, and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of professional backend software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, Git, Docker, and CI/CD workflows.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools or agentic workflows, including LLMs, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or OpenAI APIs.
• Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Keycloak, Auth0, Okta, or Amazon Cognito.
• Experience building reusable platform services or internal developer tools.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
