Software Engineer - Backend (Java)

What you will do

• Build and deliver production-ready backend solutions for technical initiatives within the Funds Transfers team.
• Develop the fund-flow logic behind settlements, drawdowns, customer top-ups, pay-ins, billing, issuer settlements, refinancing, and liquidity flows.
• Help shape system architecture and identify improvements for scalable, maintainable, and secure microservices.
• Maintain production systems, participate in the on-call rotation, and investigate root causes and reliability improvements.
• Document technical decisions through RFCs and ADRs and collaborate with product, engineering, and frontend stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience with Java and Spring Boot or a comparable backend stack.
• Experience building testable, maintainable, and extensible systems using strong engineering practices.
• Proficiency with REST APIs and event-driven communication patterns.
• Proficiency with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS and Docker.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
