TL;DR
Quality Inspector Technical Specialist I (Aerospace): Conducting in-process and final inspections of propulsion components, stage assemblies, and integrated flight hardware with an accent on precision measurement, engineering drawing interpretation, and non-conformance documentation. Focus on identifying hardware issues, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions, and maintaining quality standards for rocket test operations.

Location: Onsite at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, United States. The role requires occasional night shifts, weekends, possible travel, and clearance through a US government background check for onsite work.

Salary: $31.20–$46.80 per hour

What you will do

  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of propulsion components, stage assemblies, and integrated flight hardware.
  • Use precision tools, CAD models, engineering drawings, process specifications, and work orders to assess hardware.
  • Determine pass/fail status, document non-conformances and deviations, and perform FOD and walkdown inspections.
  • Provide technical guidance during in-process work and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Test Operations, Manufacturing, and Hardware Responsible Engineering teams.
  • Identify issues and support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

Requirements

  • Experience working in aerospace or aviation.
  • Experience with in-process build inspections, precision inspection techniques, and inspection tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs unassisted and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.
  • Successful candidates must clear a US government-administered background check for onsite work.

Nice to have

  • Structural, airframe, or large assembly inspection experience.
  • Aviation maintenance, aircraft inspection, or similar quality experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with NX, Teamcenter, LN, or Manufacturing Execution Systems.
  • Experience with AS 9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality management systems.
