Functional Safety Manager

Location: Budapest, Hungary; hybrid remote/office work with 2 home office days per week.

What you will do

• Support project teams on functional safety matters throughout I&C modernization and new-build projects.
• Supervise functional safety activities and initiate improvement measures when required.
• Ensure compliance with IEC61511 and accepted safety regulations across all project phases.
• Implement functional safety management processes and prepare related project documentation.
• Verify relevant safety lifecycle phases and conduct internal audits while supporting external audit readiness.
• Ensure functional safety qualification of project team members and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Technical degree in electrical, automation, power, mechanical, or process engineering, or comparable education.
• Completed certification according to IEC61511.
• Advanced knowledge and practical experience applying IEC61511, statutory provisions, and safety regulations.
• Experience with process technology in power plants and functional safety across several projects.
• Good judgment, negotiation, assertiveness, communication, and presentation skills.
• Business-fluent English required; German language skills are desirable.

• Successful completion of two projects as a Functional Safety Manager in Project (FSMiP).
