Senior Modular Designer (Mechanical)

Location: Remote, but candidates must be based in the United States

Salary: $95,000–$170,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead the design and technical development of modular data center systems, including mechanical enclosures, skid frames, structural components, and integrated systems.
• Create and maintain 3D models and technical drawings in SolidWorks, with AutoCAD and Revit coordination when required.
• Establish MCAD standards, drawing templates, documentation workflows, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly practices.
• Develop conceptual layouts, preliminary designs, shop drawing packages, technical reports, assembly instructions, and client documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, project management, vendors, and fabrication partners to translate design intent into production.
• Support design reviews, proposals, bids, value engineering, RFIs, factory production, field installation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and design, including sheet metal design, structural frames, welding, mechanical enclosures, and modular systems.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and experience designing for manufacturing and assembly.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, technical documentation, quality management, product development, and production requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, communicate clearly, and work independently across engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Customer-focused, detail-oriented, solution-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of piping and electrical systems.
• Experience contributing to customer proposals, bids, or early-stage design development.
