Systems Architect Senior (Java/Angular)

Location: Boston, United States

Salary: $140,000–$190,000 base salary for MA or $145,000–$195,000 base salary for NJ, plus annual bonus target.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of Java-based full-stack enterprise web applications.
• Architect API-heavy, service-oriented, and microservices-based applications using RESTful and SOAP web services.
• Create low-level designs, apply architectural patterns, and develop reusable components and frameworks.
• Integrate Angular front ends with back-end services and support CI/CD deployment in containerized, cloud-native environments.
• Review code, enforce development standards, troubleshoot critical production issues, and improve application performance and security.
• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders while mentoring junior and mid-level developers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience developing full-stack Java/J2EE enterprise web applications.
• Strong proficiency in Core Java, object-oriented design, design patterns, and technical documentation.
• Experience with Java, J2EE, XML, SQL, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST, SOAP, and Oracle.
• Front-end experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and Angular 17 or above.
• Experience with Jenkins, Jira, IntelliJ IDEA, Apache Tomcat 9, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Strong analytical, communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with microservices architecture, domain-driven design, API-centric applications, and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of secure API design, authentication, authorization, performance tuning, profiling, and monitoring.
• Technical leadership, architecture, mentoring, Agile/Scrum, documentation, and presentation experience.
