Linux System Admin (Linux)

Location: 5 days onsite in Manchester, United Kingdom. Must be a sole British citizen.

What you will do

• Provide first- and second-level technical support for incidents and problems.
• Monitor system performance and maintain smooth system functionality.
• Create, maintain, and use technical documentation.
• Implement standards, policies, and procedures for continual service improvement.
• Work across multiple teams to support compliance with IT processes and policies.

Requirements

• Sole British citizenship is required.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills.
• Experience working according to ITIL best practices.
• A proactive approach to identifying risks, problems, and root causes.
• Willingness to share knowledge and learn from colleagues.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with UNIX/Linux systems, including Red Hat, Debian, Solaris, or AIX.
• Shell scripting with Bash or KornShell and scripting with Python or Git.
• Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef.
• Knowledge of networking, filesystems, performance monitoring, AWS, virtualization, and containers.
