Senior Linux System Administrator

TL;DR

Senior Linux System Administrator: Administering, maintaining, and improving Linux server environments across production and development platforms with an accent on VMware vSphere environments and automation solutions. Focus on troubleshooting complex issues related to OS, networking, performance, and storage.

Location: Based near Reading, UK. On client site 9 days out of 10, remote every other Friday. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain DV Security Clearance.

What you will do

• Administer, maintain, and improve Linux server environments across production and development platforms.
• Support and manage VMware vSphere environments, including virtual machines, resource allocation, and host configuration.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions, preferably using Ansible, to streamline deployments, configuration, and routine tasks.
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to OS, networking, performance, and storage.
• Support interoperability with Windows Server systems where required.

Requirements

• Experience in troubleshooting, scripting, continuous integration, IT infrastructure, and IT security.
• Strong experience with Linux administration (RHEL, Rocky or similar).
• Solid understanding of networking, storage, and permissions.
• Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi administration.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible or similar automation tools.
• Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash).
