Assistant Merchant – Clothing (Retail)

Location: Los Angeles HQ, hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Support the Director of Merchandising in developing and executing seasonal clothing assortments.
• Analyze weekly sales, inventory, and customer trends to inform merchandising decisions.
• Submit and manage purchase orders while coordinating with vendors and cross-functional partners.
• Track product development milestones and deliverables with Design, Product Development, Planning, and Production.
• Maintain assortment information, product data, pricing, and merchandising documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Prepare reports, assortment recaps, presentations, and competitive research for seasonal reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in merchandising, buying, or apparel is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Netsuite.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
• Passion for apparel merchandising and understanding of the contemporary clothing market.
