Senior Software Engineer, Data Engineering (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, CA, USA; in-office policy requires four days per week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office.

Salary: $164,000–$227,000 base salary per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Build, scale, and optimize production ETL pipelines and workflows.
• Design data schemas and prepare systems for 10x data growth.
• Own data quality, governance, schema design, security, and pipeline availability.
• Develop scalable data architecture and standardized data models for self-serve insights using AI.
• Partner with Data Science, Analytics, and DevOps teams to deliver governed datasets and business insights.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to incidents outside regular working hours when necessary.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience transforming data into governed datasets.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying production-quality data pipelines.
• 5+ years of experience working with stakeholders to provide business insights.
• 5+ years of experience with SQL, Spark, AWS Glue, EMR, Airflow, and Python.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with an MPP database such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Teradata.
• Experience partnering successfully with Analytics, Data Science, and DevOps teams, plus understanding of data pipeline metrics.
