Senior Software Engineer, Data

Location: New York, NY, United States; onsite

Salary: $225,000–$300,000 total compensation per year, including base salary and new-hire equity.

What you will do

• Build and operate scalable, reliable data systems and pipelines from ingestion through modeling and visualization.
• Develop and maintain batch and streaming data products that collect, transform, and model data for business use cases and reporting.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, orchestration, and shared developer tooling for data products.
• Improve the security, compliance, observability, reliability, and cost efficiency of the data platform.
• Partner with product and engineering stakeholders on requirements, architecture, and platform improvements.

Requirements

• 6+ years of data engineering experience.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with experience designing and operating scalable batch or streaming pipelines.
• Experience with orchestration and modern data technologies such as Dagster, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, Spark, Kafka, or Databricks.
• Experience with AWS, cloud-based data platforms, data integration tooling, GitHub, Argo, Jenkins, or equivalent tools.
• Experience designing warehouse data models and transformations, building self-service tooling, communicating technical concepts, collaborating across teams, and mentoring engineers.
