Manufacturing Operations Consulting Manager

Location: Onsite/principally in-person at offices in the United States, with frequent regional travel requiring approximately 50%–75% overnight travel. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, except for qualified candidates bilingual in Japanese and English or Chinese and English.

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year across offices in CO, IL, OH, and MA.

What you will do

• Provide manufacturing operations consulting across manufacturing and distribution, automotive, electronics, food and beverage, and medical device industries.
• Assess operations, benchmark performance, and identify improvement opportunities in lean manufacturing, throughput, equipment utilization, footprint, layout, automation, and quality.
• Consult with clients to clarify business and operational goals and develop practical recommendations.
• Partner with executives and decision-makers to communicate and implement recommendations.
• Manage multiple client teams through complex, multi-layered projects and deliverables.
• Mentor internal staff and support proposals, networking, and practice development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in operations management, engineering, supply chain management, or a related business field.
• 8+ years of project-related operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of plant floor, supply chain, and back-office operations.
• Knowledge of plant equipment, Industry 4.0 concepts and technologies, and manufacturing technology systems.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required, with the stated bilingual exception.

Nice to have

• MBA or master’s degree.
• Previous consulting experience.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Bilingual Japanese and English or Chinese and English for candidates qualifying for the sponsorship exception.
