Process Engineer – Etch (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Malta, New York, USA; onsite role in a 24x7 high-volume manufacturing environment.

Salary: $105,678–$120,000 per year, determined based on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Sustain and develop etch processes for high-volume manufacturing, including process variability reduction, recipe development, defectivity reduction, and process optimization.
• Collaborate on unit-process development and manufacturing for technologies including FinFET and silicon photonics.
• Monitor production processes through daily SPC activities, improve Cpk, and troubleshoot process and tool issues.
• Improve process robustness using statistical tools, DOE techniques, data-driven decision-making, systematic problem solving, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
• Drive throughput improvement, cost reduction, yield learning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train shift technicians and collaborate with equipment suppliers, equipment engineers and technicians, contamination-free manufacturing, process integration, cost management, and quality assurance teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, a related field, or a foreign equivalent.
• At least 1 year of post-baccalaureate experience in the offered role or an engineering-related role.
• At least 1 year of experience using SPACE SPC tools to monitor and control manufacturing-process quality.
• At least 1 year of experience with FMEA line-yield improvements, creating and improving Corrective Action Specifications, semiconductor equipment, Design of Experiments (DOE), and tool matching and performance improvements.
• Ability to work safely and responsibly and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
