What you will do

  • Build and refine finite element models to evaluate the structural performance of UAV components.
  • Perform static, modal, fatigue, vibration, and aircraft loads analyses, supported by hand calculations.
  • Optimize lightweight airframe structures for strength, weight, durability, and manufacturability.
  • Support structural validation test plans, including quasi-static, vibration, and shock testing.
  • Analyze flight telemetry and structural test data to correlate predictions with real-world performance.
  • Document analysis results and collaborate with Mechanical, Systems, Propulsion, and Aerospace Engineering teams.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in structural analysis, finite element modeling, or aircraft loads analysis.
  • Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, HyperWorks, or similar.
  • Ability to perform structural strength, stability, and fatigue hand calculations.
  • Knowledge of composite materials, lightweight aerospace structures, and mechanical testing methods.
  • Proficiency with Excel, MATLAB, Python, or similar data analysis tools; ability to work effectively in a team.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience with aircraft structural design, UAV airframe development, aerospace testing, modal analysis, or composite modeling.
  • Exposure to NX, SolidWorks, Teamcenter, aerospace standards, structural certification, and material selection.
  • Ability to obtain a S//SAR-level security clearance.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time regular employees receive benefits, bonus eligibility, and equity.
  • Work takes place in a fast-paced, high-tech aerospace environment.
  • The role involves cross-functional engineering collaboration and continuous improvement of structural analysis methods and tools.
