What you will do

  • Design primary and secondary flight structures from concept through launch-ready hardware.
  • Develop structural load paths, complex structural designs, and adjacent system packaging.
  • Review static and dynamic loads, material properties, test data, and structural requirements.
  • Perform structural analysis and sizing using hand calculations, Nastran, ANSYS, and other methods.
  • Create and release drawings, support fabrication, and optimize designs for additive manufacturing.
  • Plan and support hardware test campaigns, including test integration, operation, and result evaluation.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a full-cycle design engineering role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Knowledge of structural analysis and testing, from hand calculations to advanced analysis.
  • Knowledge of structures strength, stability, and fatigue failure mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of additive and traditional manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to lead projects independently, work through ambiguity, and collaborate with additive, design, test, and loads and dynamics teams.

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of aerospace experience and an advanced engineering degree.
  • Experience with NX and Teamcenter.
  • Experience using Nastran and ANSYS.
