Salary: $86,000–$195,000 per year, depending on level and qualifications.

What you will do
- Perform thruster development, acceptance, and qualification hot-fire testing.
- Lead hazardous operations involving high-pressure fluids and write related test procedures.
- Prepare and lead Test Readiness Reviews.
- Work with test stand technicians on test article installation and inspection.
- Design and maintain modifications to test stand fluid and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with engineers based in Long Beach to meet test requirements and rapidly debug test stand issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience operating, designing, or developing chemical propulsion or fluid systems, or testing hardware.
- Ability to work onsite in Mojave, California, including outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends for critical mission milestones.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
- Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing because the role provides access to U.S.-controlled export information and items.
Nice to have
- Propulsion experience in a collegiate rocket program.
- Experience with NX, Teamcenter, Epsilon3, JIRA, or Confluence.
- Experience with controls and data acquisition systems such as Beckhoff/TwinCAT or National Instruments/LabVIEW.
- Experience building and testing high-pressure fluid systems, including tube fitting and bending.
- Ability to read and interpret Plumbing and Instrumentation Diagrams.
