Location: Mojave, United States; onsite

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 per year, plus potential stock options and Mojave differential pay.

What you will do

  • Conduct liquid rocket propulsion hardware test operations.
  • Perform test setup, hardware inspections, checkouts, and troubleshooting.
  • Create, modify, and optimize test sequences and procedures.
  • Design and build clean-sheet fluid, mechanical, and electrical systems for high-rate testing.
  • Improve operational efficiency through process upgrades and new hardware solutions.
  • Resolve technical issues and take ownership of test stand development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in hardware development testing.
  • Strong fundamentals in thermal, structural, and fluids analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with aerospace test facilities, test stand design and build-up, and test equipment procurement.
  • Ability to create and communicate fluid P&IDs, electrical and controls schematics.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR.

Nice to have

  • Experience with cryogenic propellants, high-pressure gas systems, hydraulics, or combustion devices.
  • Knowledge of valves, regulators, sensors, and power supplies, plus tube fabrication, metalworking, or wiring skills.
  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment.
  • Experience with NI or other data acquisition systems such as LabVIEW.
