Director, Associate General Counsel, Privacy, Cybersecurity, and AI

Location: New York, NY, USA or San Francisco, CA, USA; four days a week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office

Salary: $264,000–$345,000 base salary annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and maintain the privacy program in compliance with evolving privacy and data security laws.
• Advise marketing, security, engineering, product, data, and member support teams on privacy and financial privacy matters.
• Develop and manage privacy impact assessments and embed privacy by design into products and business activities.
• Advise product counsel and product teams on privacy aspects of product design.
• Develop and deliver general and role-specific privacy training.
• Support security preparedness, incident scenario planning, reportability assessments, and updates to privacy and security policies and notices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in-house.
• Experience building or maintaining privacy and security programs.
• Experience advising on AI enablement and governance.
• Experience advising security teams on best practices and preparedness.
• Proven track record leading a team and advising senior and executive-level business leaders.
• Excellent professional judgment, communication, drafting, and practical legal risk-assessment skills.
