Procurement Specialist (Robotics)

hirify.global develops intelligent robotic systems that combine robotics and AI to autonomously perform labor-intensive construction and infrastructure tasks, initially focused on large-scale solar.

What you will do

• Source off-the-shelf mechanical components, structural and machined parts, LiDAR units, cameras, compute modules, cabling, and connectors.
• Anticipate long lead times, place orders early, and qualify alternate suppliers for critical hardware.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate price, lead time, and quality, and challenge inflated quotes.
• Own purchase orders, shipment tracking, inventory records, and the in-house BOM and procurement database.
• Maintain bills of materials from mechanical drawings and CAD data and kit parts for system configurations.
• Capture sourcing and quality issues from assembly, testing, and deployment and use them to improve purchasing decisions.

Requirements

• 1–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or operations; strong internship experience counts.
• Experience or willingness to learn how to read mechanical drawings, understand BOMs, communicate with machine shops, and source hardware.
• Strong organization and follow-through with vendor records, purchase orders, payments, inventory, and shipments.
• Ability to collaborate with mechanical engineers, suppliers, and leadership and translate requirements between them.
• Comfort working hands-on with hardware in an on-site environment.

Nice to have

• Experience procuring CNC, sheet metal, weldments, or other custom-fabricated parts.
• Familiarity with LiDAR, industrial cameras, NVIDIA Jetson, x86 compute modules, GPUs, and automotive-grade cabling and connectors.
• Experience with ERP, MRP, or PLM systems in a hardware startup.
• Background working with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers on integrated hardware systems.
• APICS/ASCM, ISM CPSM, or Lean/Six Sigma coursework.
