Principal Product Designer (Fintech)

Location: New York, NY, USA, or San Francisco, CA, USA. The in-office policy requires four days per week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office; a fully remote program is also available depending on eligibility and location.

Salary: $222,000–$290,000 base salary per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the product and design vision for complex, cross-functional initiatives.
• Define strategic direction aligned with member needs and business goals.
• Raise design quality through strong craft, interaction design, and scalable visual systems.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Research, Marketing, and Analytics on user-centered strategies and measurable outcomes.
• Use AI-powered tools to accelerate ideation, exploration, and prototyping.
• Translate ambiguous product challenges into clear, elegant, and accessible solutions while mentoring designers through influence.

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating strong product thinking, design strategy, and excellent craft across complex digital experiences.
• Experience designing and shipping consumer products at scale across mobile and web.
• Expertise with Figma and modern prototyping workflows, including AI-powered design tools.
• Experience evolving design systems for consistency and scalability.
• Ability to take product vision from concept through execution with high ownership and autonomy.
• Strong storytelling, communication, stakeholder influence, and commitment to improving members' financial lives.
