Senior Software Engineer - Payments (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Bogotá, Colombia, or Mexico City, Mexico

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Django and Vue.js.
• Build RESTful APIs, microservices, and integrations with internal and external systems.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases for performance, scalability, and data integrity.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering teams in an Agile environment.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, and continuous engineering improvements.
• Mentor engineers and support knowledge sharing across the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Python backend development experience, including scalable services, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Vue.js, modern JavaScript, relational databases, schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience designing microservices, integrating APIs, and using Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with automated testing, Test-Driven Development, code reviews, technical documentation, and reviewing other engineers’ work.

Nice to have

• Experience in payments, fintech, or other high-volume transactional environments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
