TL;DR
Senior Full Stack Engineer (AI) (Python/FastAPI): Building a modern AI-assisted tax filing platform with an accent on scalable architecture, secure APIs, responsive frontend workflows, and accurate business logic. Focus on designing production-ready services, implementing robust validation and testing, and using Cursor and Claude Code to solve complex workflow and reliability challenges.
Location: Remote from Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, or Argentina; working U.S. business hours
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience
- Strong expertise in Python and FastAPI
- Production-grade REST API design and development experience
- Strong frontend experience with modern JavaScript frameworks
- Experience designing scalable application architectures and data models
- Excellent written English communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience with tax, fintech, accounting, compliance, or other regulated applications
- Cloud platforms and modern deployment pipelines
- Relational databases and ORM frameworks
- CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Experience in fully remote engineering teams
What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack applications for an AI-assisted tax filing platform.
- Develop secure Python and FastAPI backend services and REST APIs.
- Build responsive frontend interfaces for complex workflows and data-entry processes.
- Design application architecture, data models, APIs, and service structures for scalability and reliability.
- Implement validation logic, business rules, authentication, secure data handling, and audit-ready workflows.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests while owning features from planning through deployment.
