Head of Government Relations (Ecommerce)

What you will do

• Build hirify.global's European government relations and public policy function across six markets.
• Develop long-term relationships with government entities, regulators, industry organisations, and local authorities.
• Represent hirify.global in policy consultations covering digital regulation, competition, ecommerce, customs, product compliance, safety, sustainability, AI, and supply chain matters.
• Support business expansion into new markets and lines, including healthcare and private label.
• Monitor regulatory developments, assess their business impact, and create actionable advisories and response frameworks.
• Coordinate with Compliance, executives, business units, and Public Relations on investigations, enforcement issues, incentives, grants, and regulatory communications.

Requirements

• Strong experience in public policy, regulatory affairs, or government relations with senior EU or UK regulatory engagement.
• Confident understanding of the EU digital regulatory landscape.
• Experience in ecommerce, digital platforms, retail, or technology, either in-house or in an advisory capacity.
• Ability to build a new function and act as a first hire and team-builder.
• Experience working in or alongside Chinese-owned companies engaging with European regulators is a significant advantage.
• Multilingual capabilities are advantageous; Mandarin language skills are a plus.
