Director, Public Affairs (Energy Regulation)

What you will do

• Develop and lead policy agendas covering energy, water use, conservation, and economic development.
• Track and communicate the effects of federal and state legislation, regulations, and tax incentives on operations.
• Advocate for accelerated interconnection, data center incentives, and strategic energy policy outcomes.
• Serve as the primary liaison with federal agencies, Congress, state regulatory commissions, economic development committees, and industry stakeholders.
• Coordinate regulatory compliance and guidance across internal project teams, including Energy Origination, Tax, Finance, and Legal.
• Build and mentor a future Regulatory & Government Affairs team while advising senior leadership on policy trends and risks.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in government affairs, regulatory strategy, or public policy leadership, preferably in energy or infrastructure.
• Demonstrated success engaging federal and state policymakers, regulators, and economic development entities.
• Deep understanding of the U.S. regulatory landscape, including energy markets, utilities, conservation policy, and public incentives.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, relationship-building, and advocacy skills.
• Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior-level outcomes.
• Ability to work onsite in Miami, Florida.

Nice to have

• Experience with state utility commissions, federal agencies such as DOE or FERC, and Congress.
• Experience with economic development incentives and tax policy.
