Senior Mobile Cross Platform Engineer (React Native)

Location: New York, NY, USA or San Francisco, CA, USA; four days a week in the office and Fridays from home for employees near an office

Salary: $164,000–$227,000 base salary annually, plus bonus, equity, and benefits

What you will do

• Build and maintain internal frameworks, developer tooling, and infrastructure for the React Native application.
• Improve mobile app quality, performance, observability, and developer velocity in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
• Automate mobile CI/CD and release orchestration to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
• Design infrastructure that enables AI-supported mobile development and increased product velocity.
• Partner with QA to lead mobile releases across iOS and Android.
• Mentor engineers and raise standards for architecture, code quality, design reviews, and delivery practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cross-platform mobile development, ideally with React Native.
• Strong TypeScript, React, and React Native skills.
• Experience with iOS and Android build, configuration, and distribution systems.
• Experience shipping mobile apps used by millions of users and improving app performance through profiling.
• Knowledge of server-client architecture, GraphQL, memory pressure, screen latency, time to interactive, and preloading optimization.
• Experience with mobile build infrastructure such as Bitrise, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions, plus observability tools such as Bugsnag, Datadog, Sentry, or Hex.

Nice to have

• Experience with feature flags, runtime controls, or over-the-air delivery frameworks such as Expo Updates or CodePush.
• Experience building infrastructure for AI-native mobile development.
• Familiarity with Redux, React Context, AsyncStorage, or MMKV.
• Experience scaling mobile quality practices and testing frameworks.
