Manager, Thin Film Deposition R&D (Semiconductor): Leading a multidisciplinary process engineering team that screens precursors and develops ALD and CVD deposition processes for semiconductor applications with an accent on experimental design, process efficiency, and customer-focused technology development. Focus on analyzing deposition data, building team capabilities, planning technical resources, and solving complex process and customer issues through cross-functional collaboration.

Location: Danbury, Connecticut, United States; onsite role.

Salary: $125,000–$160,000 per year, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

  • Lead a multidisciplinary deposition process engineering R&D team within the Advanced Deposition Materials business unit.
  • Screen new precursors and develop ALD and CVD processes for semiconductor film deposition.
  • Create experimental plans, analyze results, and prepare customer updates with recommendations for next steps.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members while setting objectives, priorities, expectations, and accountability.
  • Develop process, safety, capital, and resource plans with EH&S and cross-functional partners.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, quality, analytical, applications, marketing, and safety teams to resolve customer issues and advance technology adoption.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering, or chemistry.
  • 10+ years of experience in ALD or CVD R&D or semiconductor process engineering.
  • 5+ years of management experience with strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor processes and integration.
  • Experience using statistical discovery and design-of-experiments tools such as SAS JMP.
  • Effective communication skills for supporting a worldwide customer base and influencing decisions across the organization.

  • Experience working in cleanrooms.
  • Hands-on experience operating ALD tools and developing new deposition processes.
  • Track record of building effective teams and achieving operational excellence.
