Fabrication Technician (Micro/Nanofabrication)

What you will do

• Execute micro- and nanofabrication process flows in the Berkeley Nanolab cleanroom.
• Operate photolithography, dry and wet etching, thin-film deposition, metrology, and inspection equipment.
• Support process development, optimization, and repeatability for hirify.global devices.
• Maintain fabrication logs, travelers, and process documentation.
• Follow cleanroom safety, chemical handling, and facility protocols.
• Improve hirify.global fabrication workflows in collaboration with engineers and researchers.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in a micro- or nanofabrication cleanroom; academic, industrial, or internship experience is acceptable.
• Familiarity with semiconductor, MEMS, or nanofabrication processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow and refine complex process flows.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a small technical team.
• Ability to work in the Berkeley Nanolab cleanroom and follow its safety and chemical-handling protocols.

Nice to have

• 2–10+ years of hands-on cleanroom fabrication experience.
• Experience in a shared-user academic or national laboratory facility.
• Interest in developing toward a process or device engineering role.
• Experience working in a startup or fast-paced R&D environment.
