Engineering Manager (AI/ML)

What you will do

• Lead and scale the Adelaide R&D engineering function across algorithms, RF engineering, embedded systems, AI/ML, and software development.
• Operate as the Adelaide Hub lead with accountability for people, technology, site operations, resource planning, and delivery.
• Drive engineering execution from concept and prototyping through production readiness.
• Recruit, retain, mentor, and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Align Adelaide initiatives with the Sydney headquarters’ technology strategy and product roadmap.
• Partner with Product, Operations, Project Management, and global Engineering teams to deliver milestones and improve engineering velocity and product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of engineering experience with significant leadership responsibility in complex technical environments.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams at scale, preferably with site or organisational ownership.
• Strong background in at least two of RF systems and signal processing, embedded systems, AI/ML, electronic warfare, or distributed and high-performance systems.
• Demonstrated success delivering complex R&D or product development programs.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and autonomous decision-making skills.

• Experience in defence, aerospace, or similarly regulated industries.
