Head of Engineering AI & Data

What you will do

• Lead engineering strategy for Data and AI in line with business priorities, technology strategy, and enterprise data principles.
• Oversee technical solution design and engineering excellence across data and AI teams and platforms.
• Maintain operational excellence across system health, resilience, performance, reliability, security, and engineering risk compliance.
• Partner with Product, Design, Architecture, and the Principal Product Manager, Data & AI to shape roadmaps and execution plans.
• Guide development of scalable data-intensive applications, data services, AI-enabled capabilities, and governed data platforms and pipelines.
• Hire, grow, and support engineering leaders and technical specialists while coordinating delivery across multiple teams.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in complex product or platform environments, including Engineering Managers and leadership capability.
• Deep experience with data and AI platforms, data-intensive systems, data pipelines, data services, or data products at scale.
• Practical AI experience and sound judgment regarding architecture, experimentation, tooling, data readiness, model integration, and operational guardrails.
• Strong understanding of modern data architectures, distributed systems, observability, reliability, governance, compliance, risk, and data quality.
• Experience shaping technical strategy across multiple squads or product areas and partnering with senior product stakeholders.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, data ingestion and orchestration, data warehousing, multi-cloud architectures, and LLM model capabilities is required; specific listed technologies are not mandatory.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, lending, regulated products, CRM or data ecosystems, or applied AI in operational product environments.
• Experience with monitoring and observability, security platforms, RAG systems, multi-agent workflows, cloud AI services, LLM gateways, AI evaluation, cost management, or platform modernisation.
