TL;DR
Senior Electrical Engineer, Hardware Test (Aerospace) (power electronics, RF, communications, and automation): Designing and deploying advanced electrical and mechanical test systems for V-BAT UAV components and subsystems with an accent on custom PCBs, automated Python test sequences, and rugged-environment validation. Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; on-site

Salary: $115,527–$173,291 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular full-time employees.

What you will do

  • Lead the design, validation, and deployment of advanced test systems for V-BAT components and subsystems.
  • Architect custom PCBs and test interfaces for power electronics, RF, and communications systems.
  • Develop scalable, repeatable automated test sequences in Python.
  • Design and integrate test fixtures using relays, PLCs, PCBAs, and harnesses.
  • Drive cross-functional design reviews and advocate for design-for-testability improvements.
  • Perform HASS, ESS, and HALT testing in simulated harsh environments while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field.
  • 3+ years of industry experience in hardware design and test engineering, or equivalent experience with an advanced degree.
  • Expertise in electrical, mechanical, and software engineering principles applied to hardware test systems.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and validating multidisciplinary hardware systems in high-stakes environments.
  • Ownership of projects from concept through execution, with strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Dallas, Texas.

Nice to have

  • Python or another scripting language for test automation.
  • Experience with Altium, KiCAD, or Eagle and CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other rugged high-reliability industries.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in dynamic environments.
