Senior Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Architect & Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Jersey City, United States

Salary: $110,000–$160,000 base salary annually, plus an annual target bonus.

What you will do

• Design and continuously improve enterprise DLP architecture across network, endpoint, email, and cloud channels.
• Deploy, configure, tune, document, and operate DLP solutions at enterprise scale, including Zscaler DLP.
• Develop DLP policies, rulesets, data dictionaries, and custom detectors for PII, NPI, MNPI, and trading data.
• Build event-monitoring pipelines that integrate DLP telemetry with SIEM platforms for correlation, enrichment, dashboards, and reporting.
• Develop automation workflows and playbooks for DLP incident triage, notification, and response.
• Support audits, regulatory examinations, risk reviews, root-cause investigations, remediation, and mentorship of junior DLP specialists.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive information security experience, including at least 5 years focused on DLP architecture, engineering, and operational leadership.
• Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing network and endpoint DLP across large enterprise environments.
• Required: Zscaler DLP expertise, including design, implementation, policy development, tuning, troubleshooting, and ongoing operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical and business risk into executive-level recommendations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GIAC, Security+, or vendor-specific DLP certifications are desirable.

Nice to have

• Experience leading enterprise DLP programs and working with multiple DLP platforms.
• Proofpoint DLP and Microsoft Purview Information Protection and DLP experience.
• Experience with Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or Microsoft Defender XDR for DLP telemetry, analytics, dashboards, alerting, and response automation.
• Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, or an equivalent field.
