Software Engineer I (Cybersecurity)

Location: Richardson, Texas, United States; hybrid schedule with on-site work 2–3 days per week and residence within approximately 50 miles of the office.

Salary: $74,100–$107,300 USD base salary per year, plus bonus plans.

What you will do

• Develop and test new capabilities and extensions for cross-domain cybersecurity products.
• Build and maintain software development tools, test infrastructure, and operational support components.
• Work hands-on in Linux-based environments and use scripting to integrate features into complex products.
• Implement cross-domain capabilities using TCP/IP networking concepts and related protocols.
• Develop data inspection policies using proprietary and open-source programming languages.
• Test, debug, and support secure Linux desktops, enterprise IT operations, and virtual desktop deployments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent experience.
• Software development experience in Linux using Java, Python, Go, C/C++, Bash, or other programming and scripting languages.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP networking and protocols including HTTP, SSH, IPsec, and TLS/SSL.
• Basic understanding of public/private keys and certificates.
• Experience with Git or comparable version control technologies.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Fedora, or Ubuntu; ability to obtain work authorizations required under U.S. ITAR or EAR regulations if needed.

Nice to have

• Experience designing or architecting cross-domain security solutions.
• Agile or Scrum development experience.
• Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, or OpenCode.
• Experience with Wireshark or virtual desktop technologies such as Azure Virtual Desktop, RDP, Citrix Receiver, or VMware Horizon View.
