Software Engineer III (C/C++)

Salary: $150,000–$163,000 annually, plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance services for core Framework systems.
• Implement and enhance protocol support across networking layers.
• Contribute to technical designs, architecture decisions, documentation, code reviews, and agile development processes.
• Collaborate with Product, platform, infrastructure, and cloud teams on roadmaps and complex engineering problems.
• Investigate production and performance issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Improve platform modernization, observability, reliability, and operational readiness while participating in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience designing, building, and operating production systems at scale.
• Strong expertise in C and C++, with Linux development experience including multithreading, memory management, and IPC.
• Experience building performance-critical systems and debugging complex issues with tools such as GDB, core dumps, and performance analyzers.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, collaborate across functions, and drive initiatives to completion.

Nice to have

• Experience with HTTP, SMB, Kerberos, TLS, Microsoft protocols, or similar network protocols.
• Exposure to AWS, cloud platforms, or distributed systems.
• Experience with observability, on-call practices, and production systems.
• Scripting experience with Python or a similar language.
