Manager of People Operations

Location: Remote; based in the San Diego, CA area, with the ability to be in person 2–4 days per month preferred.

Salary: $135,000–$155,000 per year.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions and HR needs.
• Manage leaves of absence with the external leave management partner, Tilt.
• Own benefits administration, including open enrollment, qualifying life events, brokers, and carriers.
• Plan company offsites, virtual events, and culture programs for remote and hybrid teams.
• Maintain and improve the Rippling HRIS, including data integrity, reporting, and workflow efficiency.
• Administer compliance programs, maintain policies and the handbook, support ADA interactive processes, and monitor multi-state employment law.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in People Operations or Human Resources.
• Experience independently managing benefits administration and compliance processes.
• Experience with multi-state employment law, policy creation, and handbook maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of HRIS platforms; Rippling experience is preferred.
• Warm, approachable communication style and sound judgment in sensitive employee situations.
• Based in the San Diego, CA area and able to attend in person 2–4 days per month preferred.

Nice to have

• SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification.
• Experience in a fast-paced early-stage startup.
