Assoc Eng Failure Analysis (Semiconductor)

Location: Singapore; onsite laboratory role with 12-hour night-shift operations

What you will do

• Prepare samples before FIB processing, including wafer cleaving, optical microscopy, defect navigation, coating, and delayering.
• Operate Focused Ion Beam systems for precision milling, thinning, and TEM lamella preparation.
• Verify sample quality, cleanliness, and thickness for high-quality TEM imaging.
• Support urgent requests from fabrication and failure analysis teams with a strong sense of ownership.
• Coordinate with engineers, peers, and shift counterparts to ensure smooth handovers across shifts.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures, SOPs, quality standards, and continuous improvement activities.

Requirements

• Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Microelectronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to work independently and with self-discipline during 12-hour night shifts.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for sample preparation challenges under time pressure.
• Knowledge or hands-on experience in TEM sample preparation using a Focused Ion Beam microscope is preferred.
