Assoc Eng Failure Analysis (TEM)

What you will do

• Perform pre-FIB sample preparation, including wafer cleaving, optical microscope inspection, defect navigation, sample coating, and delayering using RIE or polishing.
• Operate Focused Ion Beam systems for precision milling, thinning, and lamella preparation for TEM analysis.
• Ensure samples meet quality, cleanliness, and thickness requirements for high-quality TEM imaging.
• Support urgent and critical requests from fabrication and failure analysis teams with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
• Communicate with engineers, peers, and shift counterparts to ensure effective handover and continuity across shifts.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures, SOPs, and quality standards while participating in continuous improvement for TEM preparation and night-shift efficiency.

Requirements

• Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Microelectronics Engineering, or a relevant course.
• Ability to work independently during a 12-hour night shift with commitment and self-discipline.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot sample preparation challenges under time pressure.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience and knowledge in TEM sample preparation using a Focused Ion Beam microscope.
