Electrical Design Engineer (Data Centers)

Location: United States. On-site presence at data centers and travel are required.

Salary: $115,000–$225,000 USD annually, including base salary and bonus.

What you will do

• Review internal and third-party electrical design packages for data center projects.
• Develop electrical design concepts for high-density data center environments.
• Evaluate UPS, low-, medium-, and high-voltage infrastructure, including generators, switchgear, transformers, and power distribution equipment.
• Review cable distribution, electrical pathways, and coordination with data hall layouts.
• Coordinate with mechanical, construction, commissioning, operations, consultants, vendors, and outsourced project teams.
• Assess concurrently maintainable designs and identify alternative solutions, products, and technical tradeoffs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with electrical systems in large-scale data centers or critical infrastructure.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within two years.
• Experience designing, operating, commissioning, or maintaining electrical distribution systems.
• Knowledge of medium- and high-voltage systems, protection schemes, electrical codes, NFPA 70, and UL requirements.
• Experience with power system analysis tools such as SKM, ETAP, or Cymcap.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and provide proof of employment eligibility.

Nice to have

• Experience with neocloud, GPU, or AI infrastructure data centers.
• Experience at hyperscalers, colocation providers, or mission-critical engineering organizations.
• Familiarity with high-density rack environments.
• Experience supporting design reviews through commissioning or operational turnover.
