Data Engineer (Streaming)

Location: Carlsbad, California; Germantown, Maryland; Englewood, Colorado; or Tempe, Arizona. Additional salary ranges apply to specific work locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area. US citizenship required.

Salary: $140,500–$221,500 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $174,000–$261,000 annually.

What you will do

• Build infrastructure and tools for collecting and processing data in streaming and batch pipelines.
• Own core data ingestion and integration components processing approximately 4 billion events per hour and more than 30TB of data per day.
• Design and implement features and enhancements for the data platform.
• Advance component architecture toward data governance and management objectives.
• Support, monitor, and maintain deployed data products.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and practices for potential use.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience using at least two of Java, Scala, Python, C, or C++.
• Experience designing and implementing robust, highly scalable data services.
• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
• Experience with Linux-based systems, Docker, Git, and CI/CD tooling.
• Familiarity with at least one cloud provider, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• US citizenship required; ability to travel up to 10%.

Nice to have

• Understanding of distributed and parallel computing architectures.
• Experience with scaled data environments and streaming technologies such as Kafka and Spark.
• Expertise in Scala and/or Java.
• Experience developing highly scalable software systems, components, and client-facing web applications.
