Director, Data Engineering (Media)

Location: 229 West 43rd Street, New York, New York, United States

Salary: USD 165,000–210,000 yearly, plus bonus and long-term incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead data engineering squads, set objectives, support collaboration, and develop team members.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data architectures and pipelines across internal, third-party, and cloud-based sources.
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, performance, monitoring, and documentation.
• Collaborate with data scientists and business teams to improve data models for business intelligence and data-driven decisions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to strategic data initiatives, roadmaps, and execution.
• Support the Senior Director of Data Engineering in delivering the broader data strategy.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Experience with media-specific data platforms, content management systems, ad tech, and digital media analytics.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for data processing.
• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, and cloud data warehouses such as Redshift, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• Expertise in SQL/NoSQL databases and big data technologies including Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
• Experience designing high-performance data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time pipelines, managing data engineering teams, and collaborating cross-functionally.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Tableau or Looker.
• Experience with machine learning and data science workflows.
• Familiarity with Nielsen, comScore, or similar media analytics platforms.
• Exposure to agile development practices and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
