Application Engineer I (HVAC)

Location: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Monday through Thursday is onsite with colleagues; Fridays offer flexibility to choose the work location. Occasional local travel is required.

Annual salary: $67,196.66–$93,414.99 CAD.

What you will do

• Review plans and specifications and develop accurate cost estimates for HVAC equipment, materials, subcontractors, labor, and related construction activities.
• Select, price, and integrate equipment, controls, and services for each project.
• Determine project needs, constraints, and responsibilities for HVAC system design and installation requirements.
• Develop and discuss technical solutions with account managers, project managers, suppliers, subcontractors, technicians, and customers.
• Prepare and review preliminary and final proposals, equipment submittals, and equipment selection validations.
• Support proposal pricing, selling strategy, and project fulfillment scheduling.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, HVAC technology, or business management preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
• One to three years of experience in estimating, project management, engineering, HVAC, or construction management.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with HVAC systems or temperature controls.
• Willingness to work onsite Monday through Thursday, work overtime or weekends when required, travel locally occasionally, and hold a valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with an acceptable driving record.
