Senior Backend Engineer - Agents (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States or hybrid in Boston.

Base salary: $180,000–$220,000 per year, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

hirify.global develops an agentic cybersecurity threat-hunting platform that autonomously analyzes endpoint, identity, and cloud telemetry to identify behavioral threats and create hardened detections.

What you will do

• Build and maintain the infrastructure and platforms powering production AI agents.
• Co-own the TRACE Graph and other knowledge stores, including embeddings and semantic search systems.
• Design scalable data structures optimized for agentic workflows.
• Build automated evaluations and benchmarks to support rapid iteration without regressions.
• Ensure agents behave safely and as expected through observability and continuous evaluation.
• Collaborate with detection engineers and threat hunters, and provide guidance to other engineers working on agents.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, including 1+ year building customer-facing agentic systems in production.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Python, Java, Go, Rust, or a similar language.
• Strong understanding of agentic architectures and their tradeoffs.
• Experience designing, building, and evaluating production RAG systems.
• Strong experience with agent evaluations and observability.
• Experience with AWS or GCP, plus the ability to adapt, iterate, and ship quickly.
