AI/ML Engineer

Location: Remote and hybrid within the United States. Associates living within 30 miles of an office follow a standard 24/16 in-office/work-from-home schedule. External candidates residing in Alabama, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Washington are not eligible. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. 6C Security Clearance are required.

Salary: $95,000–$130,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, and improve LLM-powered agents using tool calling, orchestration, multi-step reasoning, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Operate production agents by monitoring behavior, diagnosing failures, tuning prompts and tools, and managing model and dependency upgrades.
• Build evaluation suites, regression tests, online metrics, and end-to-end observability for agent quality, latency, cost, and reliability.
• Develop retrieval and context strategies using RAG, structured data access, caching, chunking, and ranking.
• Build reliable tools, APIs, connectors, scalable AWS services, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
• Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to identify use cases, establish reusable frameworks, document systems, and mentor colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. 6C Security Clearance.
• At least 2 years of experience in machine learning engineering, AI engineering, software engineering, or a related role.
• Hands-on experience building agentic systems with large language models, including tool calling, orchestration, and multi-step workflows.
• Experience evaluating, deploying, and supporting AI or ML systems in production, including evaluation sets and result interpretation.
• Experience with RAG or other methods for grounding models in enterprise data, plus Python, AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
